The announcement of eight UK sites where the next generation of nuclear reactors will be built heralds a major new build programme in the UK with significant opportunities in the UK civil nuclear industry for maritime sector suppliers. Birkenhead shipyard Cammell Laird has already formed a joint venture with nuclear specialists Nuvia to position itself for future business growth in this sector and is now looking to extend its supply chain.
Mersey Maritime, working closely with Cammell Laird and a number of organisations already positioned at the forefront of the nuclear new build industry, is hosting a free-to-attend one day workshop to help maritime sector and related SMEs - typically Tier 3* and Tier 4* suppliers – identify how you can take advantage of the crossover opportunities from maritime to the nuclear new build markets and assist you in making business involvement and investment decisions.
