According to new government figures, around 46% of businesses have now suffered a digital attack. It’s a massive issue and notoriously difficult to tackle – as the household names above found out to their cost this year alone.

The truth is that digital attacks are the tip of an iceberg that really can sink businesses, big and small. These attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated, yet only 61% of companies have attempted to calculate the financial and day-to-day operational impact a cyber-attack could have on their own business. Are you sure your business is ready?

Mersey Maritime members, Clear Cloud Computing and Freedom ICT will co-present this event, which is designed to focus on key steps to online security and mitigating the risks of falling victim to digital attacks. The session will be opened by TITAN (a collaboration of the North West’s six regional police forces) and will include:
First defence – the most commonly made mistakes by businesses today.

Layers of defence, and why layers are the best way to secure a network. We will explain each layer and its relevance to the overall security of data and a network.

Securing your printers, and the potential threat they pose to business networks.
Cyber Essentials information and how to become accredited.

This event forms part of Mersey Maritime's New Markets 2 business support programme, supported by the European Regional Development Fund.
