February’s Mersey Maritime Face-2-Face event saw the first winners drawn out from the 190 Club.
The club is a private lottery for Mersey Maritime members launched by Chris Wainwright of Beech Group. It aims to raise £24,000 for the charity Feeding Britain by asking members to pay £190 a year to join and be in with a chance of winning monthly cash prizes.
So far 60 members have signed up and Chris is positive his target of 190 participants is achievable. That would raise £36,100 which, after deducting the prize money, would leave Feeding Britain with £24,100 per year.
Winners of the three prizes this month were:
- £500 – Siobhan McKelvey of Nynas
- £300 – Phil Jordan of Beech Group
- £200 – Alan and Kathleen Steadman
Feeding Britain was established in 2015 to combat the growing issue of people in deprived communities not having enough to eat and having to rely on food banks – and one of its trustees is Birkenhead MP Frank Field.
