PR firm Polaris Media has won a series of new contracts in the manufacturing and maritime sectors.
Run by journalist brothers Ben and Sam Pinnington, Manchester and Merseyside-based Polaris specialises in PR and marketing services for the maritime, energy, engineering, construction and IT sectors.
The firm has clients in the UK, India, Oman, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Romania and has a team of six.
It has been appointed by the world’s biggest manufacturer of bicycles Indian owned Hero Cycles to help promote its new range of bikes under the Insync range. The bikes have been manufacturered at Hero’s new £2m global design centre in Manchester.
Polaris has been charged with raising awareness in the cycling, regional and Indian press.
Polaris has also won a new deal with Merseyside maritime engineering company SeaKing Electrical. The £8m-turnover business is looking to raise awareness of its services across the naval, superyacht, ferry and commercial marine markets worldwide.
Another new job comes from one of the Gulf’s biggest shipping lines, Oman Shipping, which has appointed Polaris to promote the growth of its LNG operations as well as its new Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) chartering desk.
And Southampton-based hovercraft maker Griffon Hoverwork has appointed Polaris to help promote the launch of its new 995ED model at the ExpoNaval trade fair in Chile in international maritime press.
Elsewhere Polaris’ newly strengthened creative design and copywriting service has won a series of new orders. This includes the writing and design of a series of brochures for long-term Polaris client Merseyside shipyard Cammell Laird to promote its warship building capabilities.
Polaris has further received marketing literature orders from Portuguese shipyard Naval Rocha and Merseyside manufacturer Lattimer. In this job the firm is translating the document into four languages.
In another recent successful delivery, Polaris was appointed to promote the 18th annual Maritime Economic Forum Gdynia in Poland. Staged at Pomeranian Science and Technology conference centre, the event is now one of the biggest and most influential maritime events in Poland.
Director Ben Pinnington said the new orders mark a busy period for the company after it provided PR, video, social media and photography services to Cammell Laird for the launch of the RRS Sir David Attenborough polar ship.
The launch was one of the biggest news stories in the UK on the day with media generated by Polaris and the British Antarctic Survey (BAS) reaching more than one billion people worldwide according to BAS research.
Ben explained: “Polaris is expanding our service offering to give clients greater value. Through our PR work we understand our clients messaging well, so we are transferring this knowledge into film, web design, social media campaigns, copywriting, translations and creative design.”
