MDS Transmodal, based in Chester, UK, provides specialist consultancy and strategic advice to the world's transport industry, the public sector, financial institutions, property developers and other organisations with interests in transport-related issues.

The company has been trading for some 25 years and completes around 50 new projects every year. Our consultancy business is underpinned by the development and maintenance of databases (Industry Data), software to use that data (Transport Models) and publications.

Our main activities are mostly concentrated in the freight market including ports, ferries, short and deepsea container shipping, airfreight, intermodal movements, rail and logistics.

We specialise in providing accurate market assessments - the crucial element of any business analysis - bringing together an appreciation of the economics of transport and an understanding of the commercial mechanisms involved. To do this we use our extensive information resources and modelling capabilities.
