BUSINESS OF THE YEAR sponsored by Peel Group
This award will be made to a business that has demonstrated understanding of its target market and positioned or adapted itself accordingly, showing impressive growth or growth potential, and sustainability in terms of one or more of the following: job creation; turnover and/or impact on Merseyside.
Criteria: Open to businesses of any size that operate within the Maritime Logistics & Energy sectors based or operating within the Liverpool City Region.
SME BUSINESS OF THE YEAR sponsored by Cammell Laird
This award will be made to an SME* business that has demonstrated real understanding of its target market, showing impressive growth or growth potential, and sustainability in terms of one or more of the following: job creation; turnover and/or impact on Merseyside.
Criteria: Open to any small to medium sized businesses that provides goods or services within the MLE sectors and is based or operating within the Liverpool City Region.
*Maximum 249 employees and turnover not exceeding EUR 50million
RISING STAR AWARD sponsored by MECNW
This award will be made to someone under the age of 30 whose contribution has made a real and positive impact on the business in which they are employed.
Criteria: Nominations for this award should be made by businesses operating within the MLE sectors on behalf of an individual they employ. Nominees must be under the age of 30 and can be at any stage of their career or training, and may be working in any role within the business, including apprentices.
ENGINEERING COMPANY OF THE YEAR sponsored by Liverpool John Moores University
This award will be made to the company that can demonstrate its credentials as a leader in its field and/or that has developed new products or services that mark a step-change in the growth of the business and/or its move into new markets.
Criteria: Businesses can be of any size and engineering discipline(s) but must be based or operating within the North West (including Isle of Man).
BEST NEWCOMER sponsored by Brookes Bell
This award will be made to a new or recently established business that has begun trading in the past 24 months, i.e. from or in the period since 1 January 2014.
Criteria: Businesses must have begun trading in the period since 1 January 2014 and operate in one or more areas of the MLE sectors, with a registered business address within the North West. Judges will consider pace of growth or growth potential; turnover and impact on the region.
INNOVATION AWARD sponsored by The Environmental Network (TEN)
This award will be made to a business that has demonstrated originality of innovation in products, services or practices and can clearly show its impact in terms of one or more of the following: improved efficiency, increased marketability, measurable cost savings, achievement of environmental goals or improved market position.
Criteria: Businesses of any size based in teh North West (including Isle of Man) and operating within the MLE sectors that can demonstrate innovation in the last 12 months may apply.
FREIGHT & LOGISTICS AWARD sponsored by Brabners LLP
This award will recognise a major (new?) contribution to freight and logistics in the North West during the judging year (1 Jan – 31 Dec 2015). It can be focused either on a specific freight initiative or on a combination of measures and initiatives that have enhanced the part that freight plays in wider supply chain and logistics activity, nationally or internationally.
Criteria: Open to all companies operating in the MLE sectors within the North West (including Isle of Man).
GLOBAL REACH AWARD sponsored by NatWest
This award will be made to a business that is actively involved in international trade and has achieved global impact, having significantly increased its import/export activity in relation to goods or services during 2014-2015, to drive increased revenue through the North West.
Criteria: Open to all businesses that have made significant strides into new markets internationally, creating new jobs and/or positively affecting supply chains in the North West.
MARITIME PROFESSIONAL SERVICES sponsored by Tilney BestInvest
This award will be made to a business that provides professional services directly into the maritime and related sectors and in doing so has demonstrated a positive and /or measureable impact on the sector.
Criteria: Applicants may base their application on a specific project or on the basis of what impact their overall services have had on the MLE sectors. Professional service providers may include but are not limited to: legal services, public relations, surveyors, consultancy, recruitment services, insurers and financiers.
