Maritime Sector Development Programme:

Mersey Maritime is the representative organisation for the Ports and Maritime Sector on Merseyside, representing approximately 1000 companies and 26,000 employees across the region.

We currently have funding to support maritime businesses in improving their performance. The support consists of a minimum of 12 hours fully funded consultancy time in one or more areas including:

  • Business Development - e.g. B2B introductions, access to funding, problem solving
  • Skills Brokerage – e.g. support for training / apprentice requirements
  • Marketing Support - e.g. to increase business profile in the maritime sector
  • Representation – e.g. meetings with MPs, councillors and officials
  • Website Development Support – e.g. to help generate more business online

Who is eligible for this support?

A business must be classified as a Small to Medium sized Enterprise (SME) in the maritime sector and be based in the Merseyside area. An SME is defined as having less than 250 employees, an annual turnover of less than EUR 50m and a balance sheet total of less than EUR 43m.
